ABOUT US:

Liberia Youth WASH Coalition is a consortium of civil society youth-led organizations campaigning for youth participation and recognition in achieving global and rural access to portable drinking Water, Sustainable sanitation and hygiene for all at all levels through service delivery, program implementation, policies formulation and promotion and project monitoring and mobilization.

 

Established in 2012, our desire is to partner with communities and existing platforms in addressing the critical barriers in achieving universal access to portable drinking water and sustainable sanitation for all in schools and communities across Liberia through making communities with related challenges realize there present situation and work towards taking action.

 

The Coalition its membership across Liberia. Liberia Youth WASH Coalition was established as a platform for mobilizing and engaging young people and organizations to learn about the issues around water, sanitation, and hygiene and engaging them to take action as well

 

MISSION:

Liberia Youth WASH Coalition mission is to contribute to the development of the nation by supporting the poor and marginalized groups to access safe water, improved sanitation and hygiene as a human right, engage government and other stakeholders to ensure that these services are delivered effectively to all.We will do this by advocating for increasing numbers of poor households and vulnerable groups to be able to enjoy the benefits of safe water and sanitation services for domestic and productive use that is reducing poverty.

 

OUR OBJECTIVES:

  • Increase youth participation in WASH-related issues at all levels;

 

  • Initiate joint youth actions to enable youth address water, sanitation, and hygiene-related challenges;

 

  • Provide Youth WASH policy options that will adequately represent the interest and demands of the marginalized communities in relation to sanitation and water resources are concerned;

 

  • Advocate for adequate budgetary allocation and financing to the WASH sector as an integral component of ensuring adequate WASH for all;
